Bio: Noreen Naseem Rodríguez is an Associate Professor of Elementary Education and Educational Justice in the Department of Teacher Education and core faculty in the Asian Pacific American Studies (APAS) and Muslim Studies Programs at Michigan State University. Before becoming a teacher educator, Noreen was a bilingual elementary teacher in Austin, Texas for nine years. Her experiences as a Southerner teaching and working in the Midwest (Iowa State University 2017-2021, MSU 2023-present) offer unique insights for this position, and she is working closely with MSU's APAS program to find opportunities to bring Midwestern AAS scholars together for professional networking and mentoring in 2026.
