Candidate statement
Chris A. Eng is Assistant Professor of English and the Emerson Faculty Fellow at Syracuse University, where he teaches courses on U.S. ethnic literatures, critical ethnic studies, queer theory, and performance studies. His research has been published or is forthcoming in such venues as Theatre Journal, MELUS, Lateral, and The Journal of Asian American Studies. During the past three years, Chris has been chair of the Queer Studies Section of the Association for Asian American Studies. If elected as AAAS Section Representative, Chris will work to: increase the presence and vitality of sections at the AAAS national meeting; solicit feedback from current section officers to improve the function and objectives of sections; establish further dialogue between sections; and, advocate for the interests and feedback of section constituents to the board.
