Candidate statement
It would be a privilege and a source of pride to serve as archivist for this association. I first joined AAAS at the 2010 Austin conference and have presented at 9 meetings since. At the 2017 Portland meeting, I happily took part in the gracious AAAS Junior Faculty Workshop. In 2019, right before the pandemic spread, I was honored to serve as a AAAS delegate representative to the American Studies Association of Korea meeting. Professionally, I am a program coordinator and affiliate professor in general education courses at Temple University Japan. I also serve as the university’s employee assembly president. In this position, I collect employee inquiries and complaints, communicate those messages to senior administration, relay responses back to parties, and archive and flag those conversations for discussion at assembly meetings I organize once a semester. If elected, using these experiences and skills, I will do my very best to correspond with our members in a timely, clear, and empathetic manner. I will positively encourage all members to participate in elections, voting, and the business meeting. I love this association, and I am eager and willing to help in any way possible. Thank you for your consideration.
